My name is Alistair.
A professional photographer specializing in sport, motorsport, aviation, and wildlife – basically anything that moves! I also enjoy landscape work. Check out my recent gallery from the Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks to see the results.
Before moving to the US, I held accreditation by both the FIA (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile) and MSA (Motor Sports Association). I covered everything from forest rallies to Le Mans sportscar races. I was also one of the Northampton Saints (Premiership Rugby) club photographers. The list of publications where my images have appeared is extensive. I am most proud of the front and center page images in The Times, Financial Times, Telegraph, Rugby World and Rugby Times.
Photography has always been a passion of mine. When I was 14, my father returned home from a business trip to Russia and gave me a Zenit-11. Some joked that the selenium cell the Zenit used for metering perhaps might cause some radiation effects later in life! I am happy to report this has proved unfounded!
Having learned to shoot with film cameras also gave me a far higher appreciation, and understanding, of light. It also emphasized the need to take the shot correctly the first time.
Why exposurecompensation as a name? As every domain owner knows, choosing one is always difficult. A play on words seemed best; exposure for the picture and compensation for being paid for it.
